Graphing mittens/gloves in preschool

During mitten week and reading The Mitten by Jan Brett everyday, the preschool students exercised their math skills by graphing mittens.

The students had a choice of four colors of mittens. They used their imaginations to take an imaginary shopping trip to the store to purchase mittens. They made their choice of mittens and we wrote each student’s name in that mitten column. Then we tallied the number in each column and compared which color of mittens was the greatest and least.

This is a great activity for math and graphing.
