October is Fire Safety Month. More specifically October 7-13, 2012, is Fire Prevention Week.?

This book in the Safety Town Series is an old one but still a valid teaching tool: Matches, Lighters, and Firecrackers are Not Toys.

This is a great time to introduce Fire Safety to young students and teach them about the dangers of matches and lighters and the importance of putting out their camp fires. This book shows the good uses for matches in lighting pretty candles but emphasizes the dangers of matches and lighters if used incorrectly.
