Construction week in preschool

As we begin our many theme weeks on Community Helpers in the preschool classroom, we started with Construction workers. The students love the construction zone. We have been reading books about construction sites and trucks. We have been talking about tools and how to use tools safely.

The students have plastic play tools for play time, but they actually got to experience real tools. With teacher supervision, they did very well and enjoyed using a real hammer and nails.

OOOhhh love the idea of making things with hammers and nails. Great ideas to go with your theme! I’ve been wanting to take my daughter to Lowes or Home Depot to do their free class. Thanks for linking up to Thrifty Thursday! Hope to see you this week also!

The students love building and using hammers. The louder the noise they can make, the better. heehee
