Christmas joke

I read this joke on one of the blogs that I regularly read. Silly but funny!

A teacher asked her class: What was Jesus’ mother’s name? One child answered: Mary.

The teacher then asked: Who knows Jesus’ father’s name? A little kid said: Verge.

Confused, the teacher asked: Where did you get that from? The kid said: Well, you know how they are always talking about ‘Verge and Mary’.

Charlie Brown Thanksgiving

You are somebody

Do you ever have one of those days when nothing seems to be working? You feel like it is Monday morning all day everyday. You wonder when things are going to finally work out for you. You say, “why bother? What’s the use? I am nothing.” Everybody else gets the recognition for something you actually did. You feel like a nobody. Some days are like that…even in Australia. (from Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day)

Good news! You are not a nobody. You are somebody. You are somebody very special. God has big plans. We read about God’s somebodies in 1 Corinthians 1:26-31 (NCV).

Look at what you were when God called you. Not many of you were wise in the way the world judges wisdom. Not many of you had great influence. Not many of you came from important families.

But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and he chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. He chose what the world thinks is unimportant and what the world looks down on and thinks is nothing in order to destroy what the world thinks is important. God did this so that no one can brag in his presence.

Because of God you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God. In Christ we are put right with God, and have been made holy, and have been set free from sin.

Remember when you are having a case of the Mondays all week: You are important to God. You are God’s somebody.

Veterans Day

Thank you to all of our US military veterans and active-duty for your service to our USA. This is an amazing Thank You to military troops returning home. Notice the stand-up applause from others in the airport. Thank You!
