During Letter week, the preschool students enjoyed a trip down the Yellow Brick Road.
We took the concept from the Wizard of Oz classic movie and drew out squares on a long piece of yellow bulletin board paper. We wrote each letter of the alphabet in each of the squares on the paper. We made it a little tricky though by not putting the letters in the exact order one right after the other. The students had to look for the next letter carefully as it may have been behind them or to the left or to the right of them.
They followed each square on the yellow brick until they were able to go from A all the way to Z in order. They were very encouraging to others as they sat on the side of the road and helped their friends know where the next letter was and what it looked like if they were stumped.
