one reason why we do it

We have a small church, but when we look at the statistics of many churches, we aren’t that much smaller than the average church and we aren’t that much smaller than other churches in Delaware. Things just seem smaller when attendance is irregular, enthusiasm is dragging, and the finances are low.

Last night was one of the pictures of why we continue to meet as a Faith family …at least in children’s worship. I saw enthusiasm.

One friend faithfully attends with her 2 boys, ages 9 and 5. The 5 year old didn’t come last night because he was sick …which is understandable since it was 13 degrees outside last night! My friend said she was getting ready to leave her house to go to church and walked through the house with her Bible. The little boy said, “Mom, are you getting ready to go to church?” She told him yes. His reply was, “I guess I can’t go tonight since I’m here sick on the couch.” Of course, reading these words doesn’t help us hear the sadness in the voice, but the boy was truly sad that he would miss church.

That is why we do it …if there are 2000 kids or 2 kids …at least one of those kids is hearing the message and experiencing Jesus. Keep leading and teaching.
